The Wright Gold-Uraanium Prospect was first uncovered by D'Eldona Gold Mines, Limited in 1955. Explorations of this had now commence when a 4 surface holes became diamond drilled. and totalled 2,110 feet. All mining operations by this company became ceased by the end of that year.
1955 to 1957
It was at this time when the property became taken over by another mining company known as Aubay Uranium Mines, Limited. Some more explorations would continue when a magnetic survey, and six surface diamond drill holes, totalling 1,416 feet became completed. Nothing else had taken place during that year of conducting more exploration procedures on this prospect zone.
More so it's reported that the formation is known to strike easy, steeply dipping, towards a Keewatin type Metavolcanics, and iron formation, overlain by Huronian Sedimentary rocks, which are folded into a syncline, that plunges about 10 degrees to the north. Further examination revealed that at the base of the Huronian is a 50 to 70 foot thickness of Matinenda uraniferous quartz pebble conglomerate. The whole entire formation is considered to be overlain disconformably by the Gowganda Formation.
Assays obtained from the diamond drilling holes had estimated the grade of this quartz pebble conglomerate.
Zone type length gold ounces per a tonne U3O8 percent
Aubay No.4 3 feet 0.30 ounces per a tonne 0.038 percent
Aubay No. 5 2 feet 0.40 ounces per a tonne 0.052 percent
Ownership of the property was now taken over by Prosco, Limited, who had conducted a nine hole surface diamond drilling program, totalling 2,149 feet.
Assays obtained from the core samples had given the following readings
Zone Type Length Gold Ounces Per a Tonne U3C8 Percent
Prosco Wedge No. 4 ------- ---------------------------- Low
Prosco Wedge No. 5 ------- 0.06 ounces of Au Per a tonne --------------
Prosco Best ------- 0.08 ounces of Au Per a tonne 0.025 percent
four 10 pound samples of the quartz pebble conglomerate had average 0.021 ounces of Au per a ton, and 0.006 percent U3O8. All mining operation cease by the end of 1958.
All ownership of this property became taken over by Ristimaki, who had driven one diamond drill hole, totalling 308 feet from the surface,
Geological, Megnetic, electromagnetic, and radiometric (scintillometer surveying became establish by Keevil Mining Group, Limited.
