The Canada-Thomas Metal Base Mine was first discovered near Net Lake, within the small remote mining town of Temagami, Ontario, Canada. This whole entire prospecting ground was stake and option out by the International Nickel Company Limited. between 1904 and 1905. Historically the company became credited for optioning this mine property from 1905 to 1970. The whole entire mining property at the time had consisted of 4 patented claims that became registered under claims WD257, WD264, WD260, and WD258. These claims alone became situated south of Net Lake, and West of Highway 11, in central Strathy Township
